Highlights
Following are the highlights of Operations:
Without a clear organizational structure, the proper project management tools, and a strong strategic plan, businesses topple all the time.
If the business has not been set up, you can help prepare and submit entity and tax structure information. If it has, you can still support other operational functions.
Operations are not entirely about high-level experience or education, as how to run a business can be similar to how to run a household or community group.
Once the business is set up, parts of the Operations plan you can help with are systems set up, hiring and training.
Project management tools are incredibly helpful but users must be trained and the system must be used or it is a waste of time and money.
If you are seeking to increase your value, part of your job will be to see problems and identify how and where to find unique solutions.
As the business grows, you may be entrusted to fill many roles, including identifying areas where new strategic initiatives should be created. Share your vision.
We ALL have good ideas and, as tremendously organized people, we can be uniquely useful in overall Operations. Over time, you may find yourself running the business!
Never hesitate to offer assistance or get involved. People will let you know if they’re not interested in your input. That is OK...on to other things.
