What is Finance? Why is it important to a business?

Finance is simply the management of your company’s money. This is money received as well as money paid out. Quality management of funds is essential to the daily operation of any business. Maintaining excellent organizational skills, in addition to basic budgeting will keep your company’s finances “in order”.


Why this is important to any business simply put is if you are not maintaining & keeping records of your money received and spent you won't be in business for long. In addition, how well you manage these finances will help or hinder your company’s “credit worthiness”.


What does this have to do with being a Professional Assistant?

As a Professional Assistant you will likely be asked to perform many company functions. However, when regarding a company’s finances, this requires a higher level of trust. If you understand and can assist in the basic principles of financing, you will be empowered to perform them. As any entrepreneur knows, money is a constant worry & stress factor. As a Professional Assistant that can perform finance functions, you are alleviating this pressure from your (boss).
